Alpha 1 utilized resource-efficient features and technologies to reduce its environmental impact and save on operating costs. An energy-efficient air conditioning system, roof insulation and occupancy sensors reduce the office's energy use, while dual-flush water closets, water-efficient urinals and low-flow faucets reduce the office's water use. Sensible heat recovery technology was also installed with the HVAC system to help provide energy to cool the office air.
